초록/요약
The existing measures to promote bicycle ride as a green transportation mode in Korean cities have several problems. For example, emphasis of physical approach, especially construction of bicycle roads, too much interest in large area networking of bicycle roads and linear approach. This study has focused on promoting for bicycle ride in Songjeong-District, a part of the Gwangsan-Gu, Gwangju City in Korea. Songjeong-District has following potentials for more bicycle ride at district level than other part of Gwangju City ; population size (33 thousands),population composition (many students, workers, young and old people), appropriate district area (127ha), many existing bicycle user and convenience of bike & ride. This study includes various proposals in physical, institutional and citizen consciousness aspects. This study has following characteristics in comparison with other existing studies; (a) integrated approach including pedestrians, bicycles and automobiles, (b) consideration of present conditions of roads and spatial structure, (c) improving the condition of bicycle use at district level, and (d) approaches not only for physical facilities, but also for institutional and citizen consciousness aspects.
