초록/요약

요 약 현대의 물질문명은 급속한 발전을 거듭하고 있고, 교통수단이나 인터넷 등의 통신수단의 발전으로 세상은 지금 하나의 지구촌？을 향하고 있다. 현대 산업사회는 포스트모더니즘 이후의 탈(脫)장르화시대로 학문과 영역사이의 장벽도 무너져가고 있으며 많은 나라가 순혈주의에서 벗어나 다인종？다문화사회로 진입했으며 한국도 예외는 아니다. 이러한 과정은 고유의 문화와 이질문화의 접근을 가져오며, 다시 융합을 거쳐 제3의 새로운 문화를 탄생시킨다. 경계해체와 이종(異種)혼합은 보다 더 강하고 바람직한 새로운 ？하이브리드 변종？을 탄생시켰으며, 이러한 현상은 오늘날의 정치, 사회, 문화 전반에 걸쳐 광범위하게 일어나고 있다. 본 연구에서는 현대 산업사회의 사회 문화적 현상에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 하이브리드 작품을 구상하여 정신과 물질문명의 균형과 조화, 더 나아가 인간성 회복과 화합의 정신을 표현하는 작품을 제시 하였다. 첫째, 문헌조사를 통하여 정신과 물질문명, 하이브리드의 개념을 파악하였고 작품제작을 위하여 작품의 조형적 기초이론을 고찰하였다. 둘째, 정신과 물질문명의 하이브리드를 위하여 모티브적 주제가 되는 이질적 결합요소와 연계를 위한 결합 논리를 정하였다. 이 결합요소는 정신과 물질, 자연과 인위, 전통과 창조, 예술과 과학, 예술과 철학, 예술과 자연, 예술과 외설, 예술과 상품이고 하이브리드 작품의 주제를 나타내는 주제요소이다. 주제요소의 결합논리는 개방적, 긍정적, 초월적, 상호보완적, 창의적, 다양성의 인정, 다원성의 인식, 일치성, 공유성, 평등성 등의 개념이고 이 개념들은 관용과 공존을 전제로 한다. 셋째, 작품의 재료는 화강암, 오석(烏石), 옥, 수지(resin), 청자토, 백자토, 도자기유약, 칠보유약, 순금, 순은, 정은(sterling silver), 청동, 괴목, 한지, 천연 염색천(모시) 등과 폐 핸드폰, 전자기판, 전선줄, 키보드, 나뭇가지, 전자회로, 유화판 등이고 작품의 제작은 석조각, 도자기기법, 정밀주조기법, 망치성형, 칠보기법, 금부기법, 목공작업, 종이작업, 천연염색작업 등을 활용하여 주제에 따라 제작한다. 넷째, 주제요소에 따라 제작된 하이브리드 작품을 제작의도, 제작과정, 조형이론, 조형이미지를 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다 1. 현대 사회의 시대적 흐름 속에서 반대 의견을 포함한 사회의 다양한 목소리를 포용, 통합하는 하이브리드 접근방식은 미술에서도 새로운 창조적 발상의 계기가 될 수 있음을 알았다. 2. 이질적 요소들의 특성이 보존된 바탕위에 수평적, 등가적 결합으로 정신문명과 물질문명을 주제로 한 하이브리드 작품을 제작 하였다. 3. 정신문명과 물질문명의 조화와 균형을 하이브리드의 형식으로 표현하였으며 또한 추구하고자 하는 인간성 회복과 진정한 화합의 정신을 하이브리드 작품의 조형이미지를 통하여 표현하였다. 4. 본 연구를 통하여 다양한 사회 문화적 맥락에 바탕을 둔 예술의 포괄적인 이해에서 출발하여 학문과 학문 간, 학문과 현실 사이의 경계를 허무는 조형예술과 다양한 학문 영역의 교류현상들에 대한 연구의 필요성을 확인 하였다. 5. 하이브리드는 대립된 경계를 자유롭게 넘나드는 특성을 가지므로, 기존에 존재하는 것을 새로운 방식으로 결합하여 창조 할 수 있으며, 하이브리드 사고는 창조적 사유의 근원이며 ？하이브리드적 지식인？은 제3의 창조를 할 수 있는 새로운 유형의 예술, 문화인이 될 수 있다는 결론을 얻었다. 6. 하이브리드 작품에 대하여 처음으로 시도된 본 연구는, 표현의 다양성과 함께, 독창적이고 개성적인 조형작품의 필요성을 요구하는 예술, 문화인들에게 ？하이브리드 작품？의 전반적 이해의 밑거름이 되기를 기대하며 이러한 밑거름의 토대위에 인문학적 소양과 향상된 의식수준으로 새로운 창조적 하이브리드 작품을 위한 지속적인 연구의 계기를 마련하는데 의의가 있다.

Ph.D. The modern material civilization is developing rapidly and now with the progressions of transportation and internet, The modern industrial society has been a world is heading towards globalization. The modern industrial society is a genre-free age after the post-modernism era and the barrier between discipline and domain has been collapsing. Korea is no exception in being one of the many countries that were once a homogeneous ethic group but is now part of the multiracial and multicultural societies. This process has brought together both the traditional culture and the heterogenous culture to create a third culture through the fusion of the two cultures. This removed boundary and the hybridization of cultures together have created a new��hybrid variant��that is stronger and more desirable than the former and this phenomenon is spreading widely in current aspects of politics, society, and culture. This research was aimed at demonstrating works which present the balance and harmony for civilizations between spiritual and material, in addition to recovering humanity and consociation humanity on the basis of understanding the socio-cultural phenomenon of the modern industrial society. First, literature surveys were used to understand the ideology of the spiritual and the materialistic civilization as well as the concept of hybridization to be used as the model for the basic theory of production. Second, different joint elements were determined for the hybridization of the spiritual and the material civilization. These joint elements are spirit and material, nature and artificiality, tradition and creation, art and science, art and philosophy, art and nature, art and obscenity, and art and merchandise, and these are main elements that are exhibited on hybrid works. The concepts on joints theories are open, positive, transcendental, complementary, original, recognition of diversity, recognition of pluralism, consistency, commonality which are based on generosity and coexistence. Third, this research used various materials and methods. The materials used for the works were granite, Ohseok (shiny black stone), jade, resin, Cheongjato (celadon clay), Baekjato (white porcelain clay), pottery glaze, enamel glaze, gold, silver, sterling silver, bronze, Koemok (Japanese pagoda tree), Hanji (traditional Korean paper), natural dye cloth (linen), used cell phone, electronic board, electronic wire, keyboard, twig, electronic circuit, oil painting plate. As for the works of production, they were based on using stone sculpting, pottery production, precision casting, plastic hammer, cloisonn？, gold fanning technique, carpentry work, paper work, and natural dyeing. Fourth, the following conclusion was determined by the analysis of production purpose, production process, modeling theory and modeling image of the hybrid works. 1. The hybrid approach engages and integrates the various social opinions including disapproval in the current trend of modern society can lead to creative thoughts in art. 2. The hybrid works of spiritual and material civilization were produced from joint of equivalence and horizontal integration of different elements. 3. The harmony and balance of spiritual and material civilization is expressed？in a hybrid？form？recovering humanity？and the true spirit of harmony expressed through the plastic image of hybrid works. 4. Throughout this research, we confirmed the necessity of research about modeling arts that break the boundary between disciplines, discipline to reality, and exchange of phenomenon from various studies beginning from comprehensive understanding of art which is based on various social and cultural contexts. 5. Since the hybrid has a unique feature of crossing the opposed boundary freely, it can be created by combining the existing material in a new way. Hybrid thinking has become a root for creative causes which concludes that ？hybrid intellectual？ can be a new type of art created from cultured individuals. 6. We expect that this research which attempted to understand hybrid works for the first time, will become the foundation of general understanding of ？hybrid works？ in art and to set a trend towards characteristic modeling with diverse expressions. Based on these foundations, it the potential of conducting consistent researches and experiments about creative hybrid works.
